Meet Hudson!
Yesterday was a quirky day when it comes to fostering. Andrew was scheduled to pick up a black lab mix from the vet on his way home from work. She was getting spayed and was going to come and stay with us. But due to having to get her back to Vicky so she could go to an adoption event on Saturday it turned out to be easier if Vicky just kept her. We'll still be seeing Tiffany because we're showing her and another dog named Roxie tomorrow evening.
I thought we'd be foster dog free until at least over the weekend. That didn't last long. A litter of terrier mix puppies was also fixed yesterday. They were transfered to the farm where litters often go to be fostered. A volunteer there approved applications and does adoptions.
The terrier (aka terror since they're so active!) litter was mixed with three remaining collie mixes from another litter. One of the collies stressed out over the hyper litter. Apparently he tried to hide but also barked and growled at the additions.
In order to keep him stress free we got a call to see if we could come to the rescue and take him in. I asked which collie it was and it was Hudson. Earlier in the day a friend of mine posted pictures of three puppies that she and her husband were considering since they've been looking for a puppy. Hudson was one of the finalists!
As it turned out, Hudson was the fastest adoption I've done! Megan and Anthony came over and took a look at him and ended up adopting him!! They won't be picking him up until Monday though so Hudson will be spending some time with us.
Hudson will be given another name at some point once the right one comes up. So I've been calling him "puppy" and "fuzzball". He was pretty shy last night but he had a rough day. He went from being with a brother and sister to having to deal with a hyper group of puppies to being taken away from his siblings and brought to a strange place with two big dogs.
He did really well overnight though. He cried a little but stopped after a few minutes. I heard him a few times throughout the night but it didn't last long. I actually got sleep. Most of the time when we have small puppies just taken from their litter I don't get much sleep. I hope that his remaining nights here are the same. This morning he has been a bit more active. But he still pretty laid back. He loves just hanging out.
Fuzzball is almost 10 weeks old and weighs in at 14 pounds.

Your journal is great for my dog and puppy fix. I can't wait til I can have a dog again. Just visiting the dogs at my parents' house isn't enough anymore. And my cats aren't so good with the playing fetch.
